Trending Recipe Ideas This Spring

Published on February 26, 2026

We’re rounding up some of our favorite ingredients, recipes, and food search terms trending this spring to help you plan the content calendar for your food blog!

Snow is melting, days are getting longer, and spring is in the air! While we love the holidays and cozy winter foods, you can’t deny the excitement that spring weather brings. Not to mention all of the fruits, vegetables, and herbs that are coming into season. It’s a great time of year to be a food blogger!

If you’re brainstorming content for the next few months of spring, you’ve come to the right place! In this post, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite spring food trends.

Looking for more specific ideas for each month? Check out our monthly food content trends posts here:

Let’s get started!

Graduation Parties and Bridal Showers

With springtime comes many occasions for celebrations — including graduations (high school, college, even kindergarten!). 🎓 Many families host backyard barbecues or similar gatherings to commemorate the big day, and they need recipe ideas to help them do it! Share your best recipes for a crowd — bonus points if these recipes will continue to perform well as we look ahead to Memorial Day and 4th of July BBQs!

Springtime is also the time of year for many bridal showers, and people are looking for recipes to celebrate the brides-to-be. I’d love to attend a bridal shower with delicious cupcakes, tea sandwiches, springtime cocktails, light appetizers, and shortbread cookies, wouldn’t you?

Egg-Free Recipes

Have you heard? Eggs are expensive right now. If you’re already sharing vegan recipes, you’re in luck! But even if not, consider sharing some egg-free recipes for baked goods or even a post about using egg substitutes (like a flax egg) in baking.

In addition to using Google Trends when forecasting your content calendar, Pinterest Trends is another incredible tool to help you stay ahead of spikes in searches.

Matcha

Matcha has been on the rise for several years now and spring feels like the perfect time of year to feature this fresh, earthy ingredient.

You can see that searches for matcha lattes and strawberry matcha lattes follow a predictable pattern with a big boost in the spring months!

There are so many options for matcha-inspired recipes — think beverages, cookies, breads, and more!

Recipe: Blueberry Matcha Latte

Matcha also feels like a great opportunity to combine a trending ingredient with a seasonal holiday (St. Patrick’s Day, anyone?).

Popsicles

Searches for popsicles peak in June and July, so you’ll want to start sharing your delicious popsicle recipes this spring!

Get creative with your popsicle flavors, and highlight seasonal fruits and herbs for really unique flavor combinations. You could even go all out on trends and make pool party popsicles! 🤯

Farmers Markets

It’s no surprise that interest in farmers markets starts to tick up in the springtime, as many fresh fruits and vegetables are coming into season.

Checking out your local farmers market is the best way to find inspiration for new, seasonal recipes! Farmers markets are also a great way to discover new ingredients and products that you can incorporate into your cooking.

Lemonade

There is nothing better than a cold glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade in the warmer months, and Google agrees!

While everyone loves an OG lemonade recipe, the sky is the limit when it comes to flavor combinations. Think pomegranate lemonade, lemon limeade, mint lemonade — you get the idea!

Cottage Cheese

The world is obsessed with protein right now, and humble cottage cheese is having a real moment in the spotlight.

While not a seasonal trend, now is a great time to take advantage of the rising trend of cottage cheese to develop some recipes of your own. Luckily, cottage cheese is an incredibly versatile ingredient! Incorporate it into pancakes, smoothies, egg bakes, muffins, pasta, and more.

Brunch Recipes

I personally enjoy brunch year round, but between holidays like Mother’s Day and Easter, it’s a great time of year to highlight your brunch recipes.

Even if you don’t publish any new brunch recipes this spring, consider republishing or updating older brunch recipes for the blog, share your favorite brunch recipes on social media, and make sure to highlight your best brunch recipes for these holidays in a category on your homepage.

Spring Cleaning

You might not associate spring cleaning with food blogs, but hear me out! This is a great time to share some of your best pantry or fridge organization tips with your readers.

This is also a good opportunity to consider sharing affiliate links for your favorite food storage products and/or cleaning supplies! Searches for spring cleaning peak in March, so make sure to plan your content calendar with that in mind.

Don’t forget these holidays!

Be sure to mark these upcoming dates on your calendar, and consider sharing some fun recipes that your readers can celebrate with.

  • National Nutrition Month: March
  • Ramadan: February 18/19 – March 20/21 (the dates depend on astronomical calculations)
  • March Madness: March 15 – April 6
  • Purim: March 2-3
  • Holi: March 3-4
  • St. Patrick’s Day: March 17
  • April Fools’ Day: April 1
  • Passover: April 12-20
  • Easter: April 5
  • Earth Day: April 22
  • Kentucky Derby: May 2
  • Cinco de Mayo: May 5
  • Mother’s Day: May 10
  • Memorial Day: May 26
